Amazing new 8 month contract role for a technical Specialist. As part of the role you will provide technical leadership and support on the strategy, design and execution of supply chain programme area and projects within it, across the UK. Work with stakeholders, to deliver activities and projects which help deliver change and make progress towards objectives and targets. Convey robust, compelling and credible information to stakeholders to make the case for action. Develop and maintain high-level relationships with relevant stakeholders in industry, professional institutes, trade associations and public bodies. Develop new methods of delivery towards objectives and targets. Build expertise and capabilities to broker change by helping others to develop skills. Share knowledge on relevant market and technology developments across department. Contribute to external and internally events as appropriate.

POST SPECIFICS:
The Strategic Services team in ISS Networks manages a number of radio and terrestrial networks to support military operations globally. MAS is required to undertake concept phase activities towards the acquisition of a new strategic radio terminal. This will involve working with users, industry and functional SMEs in order to identify the maturity of relevant technologies and to develop potential solutions to deliver the new capability.

Supporting all areas of Defence, the programmes and some projects range from short term, fast paced and complex operational communications services through to large scale endeavours that can take many years to complete. Working with industry partners and sometimes international counterparts, Project Professionals will be undertaking some of the most challenging activities in the procurement and support of military capability.

The individual in this role will be required to support differing projects depending on the business needs. Due to the nature of the business, all roles may be subject to additional tasking from time to time as required by function and line management in support of our ‘agile resourcing’ approach.

  • Experience of defence acquisition and military communication systems.
  • Experience of supporting projects and of working within a project environment to successfully deliver outcomes.
  • Experience from working as a member of a larger project team or Project Manager of small, low complexity project.
  • APM Foundation.
