An exciting opportunity has become available with our prestigious client who is a prominent government department. The client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their welcoming team.
The Project Manager Role:
This project manager will be a key part of improving Haringey's performance at responding to complaints, FOIs, SARs and Members Enquiries alongside the successful implementation of a new software system for use across the organisation. The Project Manager will work closely with digital colleagues who are leading on the technical implementation of the new software system to ensure a holistic approach is taken to the overall project including operating model, staff engagement, training, culture change and the transition to 'business as usual'.
- Understanding, knowledge and ability to follow guidelines that ensures compliance with Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection and other statutory requirements
- Understanding and commitment to promoting and implementing the organisation’s Equal Opportunities policies
- Knowledge and experience of using IT
- To undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role
What the Project Manager Will Need:
- Relevant professional qualification or significant experience in Programme/Project Management Project planning & process management skills with knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools such as risk management, project lifecycle & quality controls
- Experience managing projects in a public sector including drafting business cases, project briefs & other project documentation
- Experience of stakeholder management including the public, local Councillors and conducting consultation
- Experience planning project activities, estimating resource needs & monitoring progress against a plan
- Experience managing project budgets in public sector
- Good understanding of issues local authorities currently face including social care and housing services
- Knowledge and understanding of equity issues in relation to providing public services
- Detailed knowledge of project management approaches
- Knowledge and understanding of commissioning and procurement in a social care context
