Fantastic new contract Project Manager role available to help our government organisation to closing a site and relocating 500 people into a new building. People change skills essential & Change relocation essential. The new building hasn’t been built yet and we will require a PM to identify what requirements are in terms of the new building.

The day to day responsibilities for the management and delivery of the Project in accordance with approved timescales. Assuring the outsourced project management function is in line with the contracted service. You will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the Project. The individual will be expected to escalate all occurrences of poor contract performance with supporting evidence. Through a structure governance regime the Projects delivery will be successful. This will culminate in reporting to the Programme or Project Board which is chaired by the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO). The Senior Project Manager will support the SRO, in reporting all risks and issues and in presenting recommendations for consideration and approval.

Tasks:

Utilise effective project management techniques to ensure the Project delivers to time, cost and qualityResponsible for the management and delivery of the Project in accordance with theGuidance, Processes and Procedures defined by the Programme Lead.Support development of procurement options to meet the stated requirement.Ensure draft Business Cases and Contracts are provided in a timely manner to support the approval process.Ensure roles and responsibilities are understood and agreed by all Project

Customers/Suppliers/Stakeholders.

Create, implement and maintain a detailed project schedule using MS Project, ensuring all tasks, responsibilities, dependencies, gates, milestones and resources are identified.Provide progress reporting as instructed using the standardised reporting template.Develop and maintain using the standardised template, detailed risk, assumption, issues, decisions and dependency registers covering all aspects of the Project and escalate risks and issues as appropriate.Undertake regular and routine project health checks using the standardised template to monitor project progress and escalate risks and issues through the agreed governance route.
Responsible for ensuring that the project is appropriately resourced, escalating any risks and issues as appropriate.Proactively identify opportunities for, and implement, continuous improvement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Management and delivery of plans to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included.Ongoing management of those plans to achieve the delivery goals.Working with key stakeholders to manage the deployment of all aspects of the project assigned to identify and mitigate potential risks for delivery of products.Operate as a full member of the team; supporting the Programme Director and other team members as directed.Project Manage all aspects of specific work packages.Working with stakeholders to ensure Design; Delivery; Technical Build; testing; MI requirements etc are managed and delivered at the correct times and dates.Completion of detailed plan for the medium term including MSP; Resources; costs.Completion of the detailed design phase to time and quality; working with the Design team to secure stakeholders sign-off at all stages.Development of stakeholder relationship with suppliers; including preparation of joint plans; proposals and any design and build documentation.Completion of the high level plan through to Go Live and BAU handover.Experience in the delivery of projects; with particular emphasis on the management of suppliers and stakeholdersExperience of governance and risk control frameworks Good planning and organisational skills, strong leadership skills; people and communications skills.As well as strong analytical skills with a proven ability to persuade and influence senior decision-making.
