We have a new and exciting, challenging but rewarding Data Warehouse Developer role available. This is working within the public sector. We require someone with a strong Azure background and proficient with IaaS and PaaS. You will be working within an Agile environment, using collaborating tools such as Jira and Slack. This organisation has an architectural vision, where they are looking to drive the project, and are waiting for the right candidate to join them. Using their experience of Python, Bash and Powershell to help drive the team forward. Knowing that you come from an automation background and are verse with BI tools such as PowerBI and Tableau. demonstrating your development skills using ETL & SSIS in deploying + database development using SSMS You will be hitting the ground running.
Role & Responsibilities of the Data Warehouse Developer:
To develop high-quality Data Warehousing solutions using appropriate, industry-standard tools, technologies and languages. So, having knowledge of source control such as GIT is essential.
To ensure that high-quality documentation is developed, maintained, regularly reviewed and stored for all solutions developed and all operational processes. So, DBA experience will be critical (Data Modelling, Database Design, Scheduling, Scaling and backup restore, security account management, permission server objects.
To review solutions and documentation in order to ensure that procedures and standards are followed constantly. Continuously working towards the objective of building in excellence and provide suitably tested solutions.
To support the improvement of solutions, and project and development processes. Using different flavours of SQL such as MySQL or Postgres.
Preparation of release content and documentation, safeguarding that all are fit for purpose when required.
Nice-to-have skills and experience
Collaborate with/challenge/assist HEE staff to identify, develop and deploy best practice approaches to data warehousing
Work with analysts to assist with data set specifications and the formulation of data models for data set representation in the data warehouse.
Assess analysts' abilities to conduct their own on-boarding activities, configuring jobs and automation, identifying suitable data sets and providing training as appropriate
Support process design and maintain documentation, including training manuals/user guidance
Work within a healthcare domain with awareness of maintaining confidentiality and implementing data protection legislation/information governance requirements
Identify and manage/report risks
